Our History
With origins as Country Optical located in downtown Latrobe, The Eyeglass Shoppe began as a stand-alone optical shop in 1983. The owner, an optician, seeing the need for optometric care to compliment the optical business, eventually brought aboard optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care. The Eyeglass Shoppe eventually moved to Mt. Laurel Plaza in 1991 and ultimately to its present day location along Route 30 in 2002.

Today, under the ownership of Dr. Michael J. Brownfield, a Latrobe native, The Eyeglass Shoppe continues to combine an extensive optical dispensary and complete lab with a state-of-the-art optometric practice. The end result is the Latrobe area’s largest and most comprehensive optometric facility.
