Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses including eyeglasses and contacts.
Our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Meet our doctors:
A native of Latrobe, Dr. Brownfield attended Saint Vincent College in Latrobe where he was awarded a Bachelors of Science in biology. Following graduation, he then went on to The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he earned a degree in Vision Science followed by Doctor of Optometry.
While practicing at The Eye Institute in Philadephia Dr. Brownfield was awarded Certificates of Clinical Excellence in both Primary and Pediatric eye care.
While away from the office, Dr. Brownfield enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Christianson, a native of Latrobe, attended Washington and Jefferson College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. Dr. Christianson’s training included multiple site externships including a rotation at a VA hospital in New Jersey and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
When Dr. Christianson is out of the office he is spending time with his wife and two children, golfing, running or enjoying his local sports teams.
Dr. Cove moved to Western PA after obtaining a Specialization Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Developmental Biology from the University of Alberta, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduation she received three awards of distinction in Practice Management, Clinical Ethics and Exceptional Research. Dr. Cove has a particular interest in Sports Vision, and has previously partnered with the Nike Inc. Research and Design Team.
Dr. Cove spends her time with her husband, two children and dog when she is not in the office. She is a sports enthusiast with a love of hockey and swimming.
Dr. Fox, a native of Ligonier, attended Saint Vincent College in Latrobe where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry. Following graduation, Dr. Fox then went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in the suburbs of Philadelphia and earned his doctorate of optometry degree. Dr. Fox’s training took him to multiple externship sites, which included an Indian health reservation in Arizona, a VA hospital in California, a large medical practice in Maryland, The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, and our very own Eyeglass Shoppe in Latrobe and Somerset. Upon graduation, he received multiple honors including clinical distinctions in primary care, ocular disease management, and low vision rehabilitation.
While away from the office, Dr. Fox enjoys spending his time watching the local sports teams, running, and playing music; along with spending time with his wife and friends.
